Orphanage Programme
At Brooks Dreams Foundation, we believe that every child deserves a safe and loving home in order to thrive. Our not-for-profit Orphanage Programme is engaged in strategies to reduce vulnerability among children whose biological parents are either deceased or unable and/or unwilling to care for them.
These children are often times neglected or left with relatives and other benefactors, who might not provide the needed care and guidance for total development. Our aim is to reduce the difficulty such children go through, to the barest minimum in some selected deprived communities, and create confident individuals who are inspired to dream big and achieve whatever goals they set for themselves.
The project has executed outreach programmes in some orphanages including the Kanvili Children’s Orphanage. As part of our long-term plans for the orphanage project, Brooks Dreams Foundation hopes to build and run an orphanage under a model where:
- There is greater emphasis on early reunification with families,
- Families are encouraged to visit the children,
- We develop ‘family style’ groups housed in the local community,
- Orphans and children in the community will be provided with the highest standard of education, comparable to
any in the country.
